The Observability Foundation from the DevOps Institute introduces the principles and practices of full-stack observability – the ability to understand the internal state of a complex system from its external outputs. In modern, distributed IT environments, traditional monitoring is no longer sufficient; observability provides the deeper insight needed to diagnose problems before they impact users.
This two-day course covers the three pillars of observability (metrics, logs, traces), how to design observable systems, the role of observability in DevOps and SRE, and how to use observability data to drive improvement.
By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:
– Explain observability and how it differs from traditional monitoring
– Describe the three pillars of observability: metrics, logs, and traces
– Understand how to design and instrument observable systems
– Apply observability practices within a DevOps or SRE context
– Prepare for the Observability Foundation examination
DevOps engineers, SREs, platform engineers, and IT operations professionals working with complex distributed systems.
DevOps Foundation or equivalent experience is beneficial.
