The PRINCE2® P3O® Foundation certification provides a thorough introduction to the P3O guidance – the PeopleCert/AXELOS framework for designing, implementing, and operating Portfolio, Programme, and Project Offices (P3O).
P3O is widely used in UK public sector and large organisations to establish effective PMOs and portfolio offices. This three-day course covers the P3O model, the different types of office (permanent, temporary, hub and spoke), the functions they perform, and how to design a P3O structure appropriate to an organisation’s needs.
The Foundation level provides the knowledge base required for P3O Practitioner.
By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:
– Explain the P3O guidance and its purpose
– Describe the different P3O models and when to use them
– Understand the functions of a portfolio, programme, and project office
– Explain how P3O supports governance and decision-making
– Identify the key roles and responsibilities within a P3O structure
– Prepare for the P3O Foundation examination
PMO managers, programme and project managers, governance professionals, and anyone involved in establishing or improving portfolio or project office functions.
No formal prerequisites, though experience in a project or programme environment is beneficial.
P3O® Foundation examination, administered by PeopleCert:
– 75 multiple-choice questions, closed-book
– 60 minutes
– Pass mark: 55% (41/75)
– Online exam voucher included, valid for 12 months
