The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Foundation from the DevOps Institute introduces the SRE discipline – a set of principles and practices developed by Google to run reliable, scalable services at speed. SRE applies software engineering approaches to operations problems, enabling organisations to move fast without breaking things.
This two-day course covers the SRE philosophy, key concepts (SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, toil reduction), the SRE team model, and how SRE practices are implemented alongside DevOps. It is an essential foundation for anyone working in or building an SRE capability.
By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:
– Explain SRE principles and how SRE differs from traditional operations
– Describe Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and error budgets
– Understand how to reduce toil through automation
– Apply SRE practices within a DevOps and cloud-native context
– Prepare for the SRE Foundation examination
