Overview

The ITIL® (Version 5) Foundation – Enhanced is a 3-day course that goes beyond the standard Foundation syllabus to give delegates a genuinely comprehensive introduction to how ITIL v5 works in practice.

The standard ITIL v5 Foundation is a 2-day course covering the core framework – the ITIL Value System, the Product & Service Lifecycle, the Guiding Principles, and the modernised practices that underpin value-driven service delivery in AI-native and digital-first environments. The Enhanced version takes that further. Over a third day, we cover all 15 ITIL practices that were included in the original ITIL 4 Foundation 3-day course but were not carried forward into the standard ITIL v5 Foundation syllabus.

If you want the certification, the standard course delivers it. If you want the depth, this is the course to choose.

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Explain the core concepts of digital product and service management, including value creation and co-creation
  • Describe the Four Dimensions of product and service management and how they interact
  • Explain the components of the ITIL Value System, including the value chain, governance, and management practices
  • Apply the ITIL Guiding Principles in real-world decision-making and ways of working
  • Describe the Product & Service Lifecycle and the purpose of each stage
  • Recognise how AI, automation, sustainability, and complexity-ready thinking shape modern service environments
  • Explain the purpose and key activities of all ITIL v5 management practices, including the 15 extended practices
  • Use value stream mapping concepts to improve flow, visibility, and outcomes
  • Map service management scenarios to relevant ITIL practices and principles

This course is designed for:

  • IT professionals entering or transitioning into service management roles
  • Service desk staff, analysts, engineers, administrators, and operational teams
  • Practice managers, service owners, and process managers who want depth beyond the standard certification

There are no mandatory prerequisites. Experience working in IT services is advantageous but not required. No prior ITIL knowledge is assumed.
