A Modern Approach to IT Service Management

As the IT service management landscape continues to evolve, the integratedITSM designation scheme from Professional Designations Corp. (PDC), along with its supporting courses, is rapidly gaining momentum. It is seen as a forward-thinking approach to IT service management.

For many years, ITIL has served as a foundational framework in the ITSM space. However, as organizations evolve, their needs have changed. As a result, many professionals are now exploring complementary or alternative models. The scheme aligns with ITIL guidance, however it introduces additional layers tailored to organisational maturity.

Several factors have contributed to this shift. These include increasing complexity, challenges with implementation, and a growing demand for practical outcomes. Consequently, there is rising interest in approaches that emphasize real-world application.integratedITSM scheme

This is where integratedITSM truly stands out. It is grounded in over 40 years of hands-on consulting and training experience. Moreover, it focuses on delivering actionable results and aligning IT practices with business goals.

Whereas most frameworks emphasize reactive service management, integratedITSM takes a proactive approach, prioritizing strategic alignment and continuous improvement.

Unlike purely theoretical models, IntegratedITSM™ combines knowledge with practical tools and strategies. These can be applied immediately in professional roles, making the learning highly relevant.

Earning an integratedITSM designation means more than just passing an exam. It signifies the ability to apply knowledge in real-world contexts. In turn, these professionals are equipped to lead change, improve service delivery, and drive measurable outcomes across their  organizations

The Six Designations

There are ten certification courses and six professional designations within PDC’s integratedITSM scheme aimed at helping to organisations to shape the future of IT service management and enhancing the professional profile of candidates through highly respected, career-advancing credentials.

The integratedITSM™ Champion is earned by completion of ten integratedITSM™ certification courses. It reflects the comprehensive framework that encompasses the latest best practices and standards in IT service management. Integrating principles from Agile and Lean methodologies, IT leadership, and organisational change management, positions it as a benchmark for excellence in modern ITSM practice and strategy execution.

This designation is awarded upon completion of four integratedITSM™ certification courses. It represents a structured body of knowledge covering integrated IT service management, Lean IT, Agile Scrum, and related enabling practices. It serves as a foundational credential within the integratedITSM™ scheme, emphasizing operational excellence and collaborative delivery.

The Organization Change Management Architect is based on three specialised courses and defines a structured approach to managing and leading change in complex environments. It reflects a deep understanding of change dynamics and the strategic role of change leadership in supporting ITSM and broader business transformation initiatives.

Awarded after completing three targeted courses, this designation outlines a comprehensive framework for managing IT-business relationships at operational, tactical, and strategic levels. It emphasizes the importance of alignment, communication, and value co-creation between IT and business stakeholders.

Once upon a time, in a bustling city where glass skyscrapers kissed the sky and the hum of technology filled the air, there was a small park. This park was an oasis of greenery amidst the urban sprawl, home to a majestic oak tree that stood tall and proud. This oak had witnessed the city grow and evolve over many decades, and it had become a symbol of strength, wisdom, and resilience for the locals.

Across the street from this park, a group of visionary entrepreneurs was in the process of establishing a new consultancy firm. They wanted a name that would not only represent their commitment to providing insightful and robust solutions but also reflect their deep roots in the community and their dedication to helping businesses grow and flourish.

One crisp autumn morning, as the founders met to brainstorm names, a ray of sunlight broke through the clouds and illuminated the old oak tree in the park. Its leaves shimmered with a golden glow, casting a warm, inviting light. Inspired by this radiant sight, one of the founders suggested the name “BrightOak.” The name embodied the brilliance of innovative ideas and the steadfast strength of the mighty oak, a perfect metaphor for their consultancy.

And so, BrightOak Consultancy was born, with a mission to illuminate the path to success for businesses of all sizes, drawing on their wisdom and experience to help clients thrive in an ever-changing world. The majestic oak continues to stand as a reminder of their origins and their commitment to excellence.
