The Value Stream Management Foundation from the DevOps Institute and Value Stream Management Consortium introduces the principles and practices of Value Stream Management – a strategic approach to optimising the flow of value from idea to customer outcome.
In a DevOps context, VSM moves beyond individual team performance to examine the end-to-end value stream – identifying bottlenecks, waste, and handoff delays that limit the pace and quality of delivery. This two-day course covers VSM concepts, flow metrics, value stream mapping techniques, and how to establish and evolve value streams across an organisation.
By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:
– Explain Value Stream Management principles and their application in DevOps
– Map and analyse value streams using VSM techniques
– Apply flow metrics (flow time, flow efficiency, flow velocity) to identify improvements
– Understand how to organise around value streams rather than functional silos
– Prepare for the VSM Foundation examination
